a promotional image i did for the graphic novel i am illustrating.

"You Will Never Be Weak Again
There was once a boy who had but one innocent wish. He did not wish for riches. He did not wish for toys. He only wished not to be a mangled broken thing. Not a burden for his mother and his father. Not a target for cruel jokes and hushed laughter. Not to live half his life between the ammonia soaked walls of a hospital. All the boy wanted was not to be weak anymore. To run and jump and play like any other boy.
And one day while standing at the great precipice of despair, looking down onto death, he cried and She answered. The Great Hidden Mother heard his lament and wrapped her knowing arms around him and swept him away to another chance at life. But it was not enough. Soon, in this harsh foreign landscape, the boy found himself lonely, afraid and still broken. That is until he came upon a cave. And in that cave lived a strange, haunted creature. Much like the boy had become. This creature told the boy its name was Torment. It told the boy it was his friend, and that the boy would never be weak again."
